Why Mazy didn't go home to be a cop

Loads of people know about the corruption of New Orleans Police Department. Though efforts are trying to clean it up, Mazy Baptiste, a Marine who takes honor and integrity seriously, could not face the dishonor occurring among some police back home. Though maybe she would have eventually gone home and joined the force there -- if circumstances of the story did not occur -- she needed to get her feet wet in a more honest police force.
